Choosing Your Linked Email Account

DocketCalendar integrates with Outlook and Google calendars. This guide will help you choose the right email account to link with DocketCalendar.

Key Considerations

  1. Access: Choose an email account that multiple people at your firm can access. Anyone who needs to Create or Edit in DocketCalendar must be able to log into this email account.
  2. New vs. Existing Account:
    • We recommend creating a new email account specifically for DocketCalendar (e.g., firmcalendar@yourdomain.com).
    • You can use an existing account (e.g., admin@ or info@), but ensure only authorized personnel have access.
  3. Account Requirements:
    • Outlook users: Must use an Outlook 365 account (not a free Outlook.com account).
    • Gmail users: Can use any standard Gmail or Google Workspace account.

Important Notes

  • Avoid generic names: Don't name the account simply "calendar" as it's too generic.
  • Event placement: Events generated by DocketCalendar don't have to be placed on this calendar.
  • Changing linked account: It's possible but requires assistance from DocketCalendar.

FAQs

  1. Can I use a personal email?     Not recommended, as you'd need to share your credentials with others who need access.
  2. Do all events have to go on this calendar?     No. For Outlook users, this email is just a connection point between your Outlook domain and DocketCalendar.
  3. Can I change the linked account later?     Yes, but it requires assistance from DocketCalendar.
