Outlook: Reminders & Categories

Microsoft Outlook allows one popup reminder and multiple categories for each event. DocketCalendar fully supports control of your reminders at the Case, Trigger, and Event levels. Our latest update provides enhanced control over reminders and categories.

Overview of Reminder and Category Control

DocketCalendar offers three levels of control for reminders and categories:

  1. Case Level
  2. Trigger Level
  3. Event Level

Create Events: Reminders & Categories

When creating new events, you can set reminders and categories at the individual event level:

  1. Calculate your deadlines on the Create Events screen.
  2. Click the "Next: Edit Events" button.
  3. For each deadline:
    • Click the Edit Pencil icon at the end of the line.
    • Use the dropdown to set the individual event Popup reminder and Category.
    • Click "Save" for each edited line item.

Your Trigger level settings will be saved when you add the events to your calendars.

Note: You can only set one Category at the line item (event) level, but you can select multiple Categories at the Trigger level.

Case Reminders & Categories

Case reminders and Category settings are set when you create a new case and can be edited at any time:

  • Changes to Case settings apply to newly calculated deadlines.
  • For existing deadlines, edit the Trigger or Event to change reminders or categories.

Trigger Reminders & Categories

Set Trigger reminders when calculating a new Trigger or edit existing ones:

  1. Go to your Case.
  2. Click the "View" button for the desired Trigger.
  3. Click the "Edit Trigger" button.
