App Defaults
This guide explains how to configure DocketCalendar's App Defaults - the pre-set options that control how events are created, displayed, and managed in your calendar. By customizing these settings, you can optimize DocketCalendar to fit your specific workflow and preferences.

Default Jurisdiction:
- Optional setting to auto-populate when creating a new case

Categories:
- Set default category(ies) for all calculations
- Use only if ALL events should have the same category
Popup Reminder:
- Set default reminder for new cases
- Can be overridden when creating a case or calculating a trigger
Appointments W/Time Status:
- Choose if events appear as busy or free on calendar
- Affects appearances/timed events only
Appointment Length:
- Set default length for appearances/timed events
- Can be overridden when calculating a trigger

Display Court Rule in Calendar Body:
- Options: Full rule text, Rule ID only, or Exclude all court rule information
Display Date Rule in Calendar Body:
- Choose to include or exclude
- Example: "5 court day(s) before triggering event. Adjustment: move to the previous court day if holiday or weekend."
Display Case Name:
- Choose location: Before or After Deadline
- Examples:
- Before: "Smith V Jones L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- After: "L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service Smith V Jones"
Display Title:
- None: Displays nothing.
- Choose location: After Case Name (Before Deadline), Before Case Name (Before Deadline), or After Deadline
- Examples (assuming "(Title)" entered in title field):
- After Case Name: "Smith V Jones (Title) L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- Before Case Name: "(Title) Smith V Jones L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- After Deadline: "Smith V Jones L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service (Title)"
Display User Notification Tag:
- When enabled, inserts a personalized event tag into every event created by DocketCalendar
- Allows identification of deadlines created for a specific user
Display Events Details:
- Includes event title and type (recommended)
- Ensures access to full event title when opening the event on your calendar
Display Trigger Title:
- When enabled, includes the name of the trigger that generated the event in the calendar event body
Display "DocketCalendarDeadline" Tag:
- When enabled, inserts "DocketCalendarDeadline" into every event created by DocketCalendar
- Allows identification of deadlines created by DocketCalendar
Display "Original Trigger":
- When enabled, includes a copy of the original trigger name created by DocketCalendar in the event body
- Allows identification of the trigger name before edits were made
Display "Original Event":
- When enabled, includes a copy of the original event created by DocketCalendar in the event body
- Allows identification of what the event was before edits were made
Display "Calendars" in Body:
- When enabled, shows a list of all calendars that received a copy of this event at calculation
Case Name Separator:
- Options: No Separator, "-", ":", " |"
- Examples:
- No Separator: "Smith V Jones L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- "-": "Smith V Jones - L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- ":": "Smith V Jones : L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- " |": "Smith V Jones | L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
Text Field Separator:
- Options: No Separator, "-", ":", "|", "()"
- Examples (assuming "Title" entered in title field):
- No Separator: "Smith V Jones Title L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- "-": "Smith V Jones Title- L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- ":": "Smith V Jones Title: L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- "|": "Smith V Jones Title| L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- "()": "Smith V Jones (Title) L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
- Example with both separators: "Smith V Jones: (Title) L/D to Serve Amended Complaint and File Proof of Service"
Assignment Settings:
- Calendar & Dashboard Mirrors Case: When checked, selecting the "Assigned to Case" field automatically populates the Calendars and Dashboards fields with the same values when the case is saved.
- Dashboards Mirrors Calendars: When checked, the "Assigned to Case" field acts independently, but selecting the Calendars field automatically populates the Dashboards field with the same values when the case is saved.
- Case, Calendar, Dashboard- All Independent: When checked, all three fields (Case, Calendar, and Dashboard) can be assigned independently.

App Restriction:
- When enabled, requires a password for access to app defaults, users, and shopping cart
App Password:
- Set password for app restriction
Auto Audit Trigger:
- When enabled, automatically double-checks every event after creation to confirm the events are on your Outlook/Google calendars
