Users

DocketCalendar empowers you to create individual logins for your staff with either Edit or View Only privileges. Each user gets their own Calendar and Dashboard, and can be assigned to specific cases for streamlined case management.

Creating a New User

Click the Users Icon on the Side Panel
Select "Create New User" at the top of the screen

  • Enter the user's email address (must be unique)
  • Fill in the required information, including user type and permissions
  • If you've connected to Outlook or Google, you'll see an option to "Assign Link Calendar"
  • Click "Save" to create the user

Note: The new user will receive an email with login credentials and a temporary password. They'll be prompted to create a new password upon first login.

Click the edit button next to a user's name

Deactivate User
  • Go to the user's edit screen
  • Click the "Deactivate User" button
  • The user will be moved to the 'Inactive Users' tab

Reactivate User
Users can be reactivated from the 'Inactive Users' tab at any time by clicking on 'Restore' from the edit user screen.

Important: Before deactivating a user, remove them from assigned cases to ensure all events are properly redistributed.

User Types
Editors
  • Full access
  • Must log in with the linked account's email address
Viewers
  • Has limited access
  • Log in with their username and password
Case Assignment
Assigned users see all case events in "All Cases" and "All Events" views
  • Useful for managing responsibilities without overwhelming individual calendars
  • Allows you to assign specific events (like appearances or important deadlines) to user calendars
Calendar and Dashboard Management
Add to Calendars
  • Set defaults at the case level or customize for each trigger/event
  • Users assigned at the case level will be pre-filled as recipients for new events
Add to Dashboards
  • Set defaults at the case level or customize for each trigger/event
  • Log in with their username and password
Case, Calendar and Dashboard settings can operate independently or as one.

Displays all events for cases the user is assigned to

Encourage users to toggle between "My Events" and "My Cases" views for comprehensive oversight

Before deactivating a user, ensure all their assignments are properly redistributed. If you deactivate a user by mistake, you can always restore them.
